UX/UI in Yemen

Nora, a 28-year-old mother of two, from Yemen, holds a general medicine and surgery degree from Sana'a University. After working in medicine for two years, she decided to leave the field to be more present with her children."

It was a difficult decision because I had always wanted to be a doctor, but my children's needs had to be my priority," she explains.

Nora discovered design as a potential new career path, drawn to its similarity to medicine in terms of problem-solving."I found that I could be creative and use my imagination to find solutions through design," she says. "My brother is an alum of Re:Coded, so I was excited to join, knowing how great his experience was."Nora was excited to join the Re:Coded UX/UI Design Bootcamp in Yemen, due to its comprehensive approach as it covers both technical and soft skills.

During her time at the bootcamp, Nora experienced personalized learning while also collaborating in teams, where she honed her communication, teamwork, and agile management skills.Nora has recently graduated from the UX/UI Design Bootcamp. She is currently in the Career Services & Development Phase, and will be matched with a mentor soon. She is currently prepping for pursuing and applying for for job opportunities in the Freelance space. Nora hopes to pursue freelance opportunities and as a working mom, she aims to be a role model for her children by achieving financial independence while still being present for her children.

We are currently supporting 10 bootcamps across Turkey, Yemen, Iraq and Lebanon being run by Re:Coded.
