Magic Lab Academy is an internationally accredited animation school on a mission to Build Africa's Creative Capacity. Our overarching goal is to empower the next generation of professional animators across Africa, aiming to equip over 100,000 young Africans with world-class animation skills in the next few years. We envision a future where these skilled individuals become key players in the global animation market. Our immersive programs cover a wide range of specialised programs in 2DTraditonal Animation, 2D Cut-Out Animation, 3D Animation, CGI & VFX, Game Design & Development, Story & Script Development and more.

Upon successful completion of our programs, students receive a diploma certifying their expertise and skills in animation. As of 2023, Magic Lab Academy has trained over 400 students, with many of our graduates going on to pursue successful careers in animation studios, film production companies, and creative agencies across the world.

Mentoring students in 3D character and Environment art at the MagicLab Academy has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my career as a 3D artist, offering me the opportunity to share my expertise in 3D character art and Environment modeling with a talented group of aspiring artists. Over the course of 12 weeks, I worked closely with students, guiding them through the complexities of character creation and Environment modeling, from initial concepts to production-ready 3D models. One of the most fulfilling aspects of mentoring at the MagicLab Academy was witnessing the individual growth of each student. Some came in with limited knowledge of 3D software, while others had experience but were looking to refine their skills. We focused on key aspects of character creation, such as sculpting, UVs, texturing, and re-topology, while also emphasizing the importance of problem solving and refining workflows from basic block-outs to detailed and fully rendered characters...
